which contrast AF mode is best to use for general photography in live view? i assume PDAF is not an option as it appears Contrast AF is the only option and cannot be changed, or is there a way of magnifying the image prior to shooting using PDAF

Excellent shot and well spotted, small Churches are not the easiest of subjects usually due to lack of light and 20th century items in the way in an 11th-12th century building

Hopefully arriving tomorrow from MPB a Tamron 70-200mm f 2.8 as my Sigma 50-150mm f2.8 only works in MF and throws camera into a fit in liveview. Also recently shelved Sigma 17-70mm f2.8-4 for a Pentax 17-70mm f4 as i had one ages ago and regretted getting rid of it plus the Pentax just feels a better made lens to me.

As Jon says the PRO lenses probably are excellent but at quite a premium ,Olympus 300mm f4 a tad over £2000, Pentax DA*300mm f4 around £1000, as an example

one of those things you will need "one day" so i can imagine losing or breaking it would be disaster when that day came. Good luck finding one
