found this on ebay. Sigma 400mm APO F5.6 Pentax K Mount MF, no reserve!
pushed it up to the ton mark , any body have any idea what it is like,from what i have gleened it is not too bad, also what would be a fair price or have i passed it. i have been outbid by a couple of pounds at the moment. any advice much appreciated

Thordell ref your comment on manual focus on k7 can you not use the focus indicator to show the subject is in focus, i thought this was possible

the lens i have is a tokina .ther is a springloaded pin, looking down onto the base of the lens it protrudes through the face of the thread .it has to be puhed in to allow the apeture ring to work otherwise apeture is wide open, i assume it should come into contact with a face or something as you screw it in but on the k7 there is nothing for it to make contact with

when you fit m42 lens to body with adaptor unable to adjust apeture as the pin goes inside adaptor. do you araldite pin in poition so apeture can be set

which of this type of lens would be the ones to go for for quality and performance in zoom ,telephoto, & wide angle? looked at previous posts, which were informative, but would like a list to go looking for on our fvae auction site or indeed our own excellent classifieds.

Does anyone have an opinion on any of the qualities of this lens, have seen one for sale. just set up some bird feeders in the garden and wonder if this lens would be suitable for taking piccies of our feathered friends.
