another lovely set of pictures, you do get around.
one question, how did you get rid of the colour cast that the Hitech filter gives? to get back to such natural colours . i have this filter and have given up using it because i cannot find how to do this, help much appreciated

let,s not forget the comment about the lenses to get the best from this camera, the Pentax DA* and Limiteds. this expense on top of the extra cost of the unit for some thing that can be achieved by a few seconds pp work, i think most people at this time of financial constraint will skip this model and wait for the next incarnation of the K5 and see if it catches up with the other manufacturers where it falls short, as pointed out in the review by a Pentax site. not everybody takes photo,s in the dark.

are the "set one" and "set all" on a K5 cumulative or can you only have one or the other?

if you just need it for one lens look for B&W they do screw on 10 stop , or the cokin p type fit by Hitech, have improved vastly since their original launch onto the market, i believe there are a number of users of them on this site

The ThinkTank Retrospective 10 Pinestone... appears to be (from the short time I have had to try it) the best designed and most comfortable general purpose shoulder bag I have ever used.
Having had many's a kit bag over the years, and now having one of these (actually mine's a "20"- next size up), I concur wholeheartedly. Suffice to say that I am no longer looking out for anything to replace it!
and another for Think Tank i have Retrospective 30 and 10, life time guarantee, the 30 will hold an enormous amount of kit, check them out definitely up with Billingham on quality

picture frames = charity shops and jumble sales, you can pick up some bargains. i think even in the cheap stores they are overpriced for the quality.

thanks to both of you,but it turns out John hit the nail on the head again. i do not usually take a tripod or any other support with me, just tried his suggestion on some dormer windows about 3/4 mile away, with DA21, put it into ps up to 100% and the detail is far better than i have managed before and after minimum sharpening was great. must have got a bit shakier over the last 12 months or so.once again thanks.
still hope i will have enough for the MK2 though.

that sounds a lot easier, still not sure it is what i need . i can set my lenses up on a chart ok but the problem i appear to have is that distant infinity ,say 1/2 mile, is not focusing correctly, lack of detail when viewed at 100%. just wondered if i back focused the base line by 50 it would do the trick and still allow my lenses to be adjusted as required, as they all wanted + adjustment to varying degrees. people on the American site have had the same problem, but they seem to have sent theirs to service
or hope my tax rebate is big enough to trade it in against K5 MK2
