Compositionally (is there such a word!) the only one that does it for me is number 9.
The others are 'nice' shots and convey the sort of thing that tourists would take to remind them of a nice area. I can see what you were attempting but IMHO I don't thinks it's quite there.
However No. 9 looks composed and thought about to me. It is framed well, it clearly defines the road as the subject and the 'space' above puts it in context. However I do think it looks a little bit 'flat'
I think it could do with similar PP to no 4 & 8 but with a boost to the contrast to make the snaking roadway stand out.

A reason to stay away from their new cloud based products, first your details are compromised and then it goes down!
I signed up about 2 weeks ago and it's all working fine now.

Did I want to? No
Did I want photoshop? Yes, now that my needs are changing I wanted the industry standard. Although PSE12 is pretty amazing.
Would/could I have spent £500+ for the package? No

For me £8 per month means that it will be over two years before I'm out of pocket and it will have been updated twice by then.
Of course it might not be £8 then.........

I thought images posted in "Your Photos" were put in as "up for discussion" the gallery was an "exhibition" of your work
That's why I post my images in the forum as I am oping for C&C

I'd agree with that

Putting the quality issue aside I tend to post images in the 'Your Photos' section. I haven't quite figured out the benefits of the gallery. Although, I must admit, I don't look there very often

I do like the B&W version but TBH I think I prefer the original now that I've seen it.
If I had taken this the most I probably would have done was a touch of clarity and bringing the highlight down. I think you have balanced the flash light almost perfectly. In fact if it wasn't for the shadow of the ice cream on her arm it would be difficult to spot that you had used flash at all. In many ways the B&W treatment has highlighted the flash effect.
A lovely moment, captured well in colour or B&W

I use the Cactus V5 triggers and find them to be good quality and very reliable. I'm interested in this flash as well as the V6 trigger.
As far as I know they are only available from www.gadgetinfinity.com. This is where I got my triggers from and the service was pretty good.

I really like this shot but I do agree that the children look a bit detached from the background. In some ways that makes it a bit different.
The bokeh of the tree in the middle looks almost painted on.
I assume you were using the camera's built in flash?

Very nice. I'm thinking square.
I agree, I think this would suit a square crop but is a good atmospheric image

Why not choose an Insurance policy that will provide a loaner while your broken equipment is in repair? A bit like car insurance.... I guess the hike in premiums will be worth it. (for all of us)

Either that or buy a body from eBay then sell it afterwards. When I totalled my GX20 I got a temporary camera and made £60 on it when I sold it.

I'd like a thread here for suppliers to out their whiniest customers too.
I doubt that there would be many insurance companies that would offer a replacement Pentax which was compatible with my other kit. I have now invested in a K3 so the repaired camera is my backup.
I didn't think I was 'Whining' I just thought I was sharing an experience that others may find informative.

My DA*50-135mm lens was repaired by Johnsons a few months ago (usual SDM problem) and I had no complaints whatever. It was dealt with promptly.

Looking back over older threads it would seem that their level of service varies. Quality of reapirs never seems to be an issue but duration and communication seems to crop up, as a complaint, regularly.

I find it frustration that, as Pentax's nominated service centre, they do not hold parts in stock such as mirror boxes. After all pentax does not have that extensive a range!

Secondly they had the wrong part for nearly 3 weeks and never bothered to do anything about it. In fact they out and out lied when they said they would speak to the technician and expedite it, twice!

Okay....now I'm whining

Johnsons Photopia are Pentax's own recommended repair centre in the UK so you would have hoped for better service.

Maybe we should start a 'review' thread to give other an idea of how each repair company performs?
