Might be worth considering something outside the box Stefan a freind of mine has this lens and loves the results.

Hi Max good luck with your choice, I have the sigma 17/70 and have been very happy with it. The way I went was to purchase the sigma 10/20, 17/70 and Tamron 70/300 also for portraits I use the Pentax 50mm 1.4 or the Pentax 50mm 1.7.

One of the first pic's took with the 18/55 on the K 100 D from the photos shown on this thread it does a pretty good job in my opinion.

A 48 percent vote is hardly a vote of confedence in the service as it stands so far, Im a bit suprised to say the least.

Sorry to here that Steve, just a thought would it not be an idea to have the shop who you bought the camera from to try and get the situation resolved for you. Im sure pentax would not want any bad reports from the very people they supply in a very compedative market for fear of loosing trade.

I can only say the service I have had from pentax has been first class. I sent my first k100 D to them as I was having problems with the vertical and horozontal being planes they replaced the camera with a new one. I then sent that back after having it over 8 months when it started running the batterys down they fixed the problem in two weeks of sending the camera to them. They also provided very helpful information when calling there base in slough.

I like the photos but I can't stand the lighting boxes, you would think that they could be set below ground level as it would make the area look tidier.
Good point never realy gave it a thought but on refelection you are correct.

Don't forget this is no more the "correct" exposure than any other, but it is the one taking the meter reading as is.
Thanks for that John as others have also said Im also not a fan of HDR but in this case it does work well, well done.
