I am looking to buy a Pentax 16-85mm aperture arm return spring. Its tiny and mine broke but I,m looking to replace it myself as its easy. Can anyone recommend a parts retailer that could help out??

I thought it was bad luck then I saw the design on the 16-85mm spring and thought I`ve paid £500 for out of date rubbish design. Anyway its all getting traded and back to Canon and I think. Sadly it hasn`t been fun just expensive

I just wanted to vent on here. I came to Pentax because everyone said they are good quality. So in the last 6 years I have had auto fucus problems with a K3 and then the same problems with the K3ii replacement. I have had 2 yes 2 16-85mm fail and this last one is the aperture spring failing and when I had a look I was disgusted with the poor design of this. I have sadly had non of this with Canon, sorry yes I had a canon kit lens fail after 14 years of use. Even the Sony I have has been more reliable. I am now stuck with kit that I can`t trade in and if I do I will get peanuts for it.

Has anyone else had this?

I do use a 100mm which has the screw drive and I don't remember it doing it with that. I will try giving all the contact a good clean and see how it does. Thanks for the advise

I'll give them all a good clean. What is good for cleaning? The batteries are only 2 years old and hold charge brilliantly.

I have a 2 year old k3ii with 22k shutter count. The cameras either stops working or the autofocus stops working. Turning it on and off sorts it. Or removing the lens and putting it back. I recently replaced the 16-85mm lens thinking it was this but its not. I have tried a hard reset which made no difference. Has anyone else had this problem or know of a solution?

Using DNG files has sorted it thank you for the advice.

Cheers guys I just needed to set the picture template pixels to the sensor size and that`s got it. I will try DNG files instead too

Hello hoping someone can help. I,m using Coral Paintshop Pro X8 and when I open A PEF (raw) file it is creating a black line on 1 short edge of image. I have no idea why and am wondering if anyone here has had the same issue and can it be resolved. Examples below.
