Hey All,

I have an old Pentax 70-200mm push pull zoom lens, which has a serious fungus infection. I have it in a zip-lock (two, actually), with a moisture absorbing chemical.

However I'm wondering if anything can be done to save this lens? Seems a shame to just chuck it away! but obviously I don't want it near any of my new gear.

My main thought is, is there someone here with the skills to repair it who would like it, I would give it away for postage only.

Or is it beyond hope?

Cheers

've just purchased a DA* 50-135mm, therefore I now have the 17-135mm range covered, hence I can't justify keeping this lovely lens!

Its in pristine condition, with little use since purchase in August. It makes an excellent walkaround lens / partner for the K-30, K5 or K5II, especially due to the WR. I have found the performance to be excellent, considering the price and range, and will be sad to see it go. Will not be boxed in official Pentax box as this was the kit lens for my K-30 - but it will come with the lens hood.

£350 inc RMSD to the UK

I use umbrella brackets from Cotswold photography. Or their softbox, which comes with its own ball head bracket.

Does somewhat depend whether you want to put a modifier on the stand as well?

I'm happy with the Cotswold stuff for the price, good quality and fast delivery.

Do you have some examples of the output of the Sigma?

It'd better be the latter, or they had better be fleshing out the rest of the range.

To be fair, the UI it looks like they've gone for is more towards Metz etc in that it doesn't have a button for everything (infact my Metz only has four buttons to do everything (well, plus the on slider!).

I'm also interested to know if they are done any work to update PTTL etc.

Any general thoughts on chopping in a nearly new K30 for a K5? More happy with my K-01 output at the moment than that of the K-30, but £425 is a massive chunk of change.

Anyone got any thoughts?

On a K5ii it is

PS not trying to start an argument!

I'm tempted, but I'd have to find £425 to pay for a K5ii!

Note - £300 is only just matching the current SRS Trade in price.

I'd be interested to know what the going rate for a K30 is - considering swapping out for a K5II
