Hey All,

I have an old Pentax 70-200mm push pull zoom lens, which has a serious fungus infection. I have it in a zip-lock (two, actually), with a moisture absorbing chemical.

However I'm wondering if anything can be done to save this lens? Seems a shame to just chuck it away! but obviously I don't want it near any of my new gear.

My main thought is, is there someone here with the skills to repair it who would like it, I would give it away for postage only.

Or is it beyond hope?

Cheers

Is this thread on the other forum any help?

I'd rather you were able to clean and keep it for yourself but, if not, I'll put my name forward to be its new keeper

I had some fungus on my Siggy 170-500. I left it looking at the sun for a few days. Not all of the fugus has gone, but it has reduced it a lot. Worth a try before getting it repaired or taking it apart. Mind you with the current weather, that may take it a while.......
