SR or any image stabilisation system is no good at all for moving subjects, fast shutter speed is the solution to that problem.
In many cases too fast a shutter speed completely ruins shots of moving objects.

I've taken shots of race cars where they look like they've been parked n the circuit, and planes/helicopters where the propeller is stopped. Getting the shot right, involves leaving enough motion blur, in wheels, propellers etc. to give the impression of speed.

Whilst not ideal, I've found Pentax's SR generally improves my (handheld) panning shots, as it copes reasonably well keeping long smooth movements, whilst minimizing of axis shakes.

Now, anyone know what strength ND filter I use on the Longtime app as the filter is practically black to see through !
When I ordered my set of welding filter I tracked down the formula for the different shades & calculated home many stops they equated to.
However in use I found they are all significantly darker than the shade suggests. The best thing is to just use trial & error, checking with the histograms to determine the factor for your particular filter.

To give you a starting point IIRC the factors worked out in the region of 8 to 13 stops, for shades 9-11.

Mine is a shot of me taken (by my dad with his MX) about 20 years ago whilst sailing of the coast of Yugoslavia.
I've alway liked the castaway look.
Now I think I look more like the old school photos of me than my Avatar.

People don't look as different as I thought they would. Having said that I think #5 & #6 are incredible.
Skin generally looks much smoother in IR, removing surface blemishes etc.
One of the other Forums I browse has an excellent comparison of Visible IR & UV portraits

My own experiment in IR portraits is less successful see here in my PU portfolio.

Too expensive?
Alec it got a reaction from me - even if it wasn't one to reach you - along the lines of 'Damn that's a much better bargain than my one was' (No not to expensive IMHO)

Unfortunatly I'm not currently in the position to get another DSLR.
