Shim, I think i know where you're coming from saying 24mm is too short for macro work. I had to get very close to get those shots and into quite an uncofortable position. I also had the problem of my body/camera blocking the natural light that was getting to the subject due to being so close.

I'll buy a decent 100mm macro in time, but for now, i'll have to stick with what i have.

I've had some good results with the 18-55mk2 as well... really pleased with it.

Both taken with my K20d and an 20+ year old manual Super Paragon 24mm 1:2.8 PMC2 Macro.

Nothing stunning, but i'm pleased with them. I was learning about focus points and DOF with these.

1 question: i don't know anything about this lens (other than i rescued it from going to lens heaven/hell). Can anything be told about the lens quality from the bokeh or other part of the image.

First one is a Skimmia in a pot outside the front door.




I like this one better. Don't have a clue about this flower (or any other for that matter!) apart from it is really small at about 3 or 4 cm across.
