Hi all. My first image post. Took it back in January. Was a dirty old day. Overcast and showery. Its taken from the top of the Harbour Bridge pylon. Got some good feed back about it elsewhere, made some suggested changes. Taken with the 18-55 kit lens.

Amazing colours..... some people claim the kit lens isn't quite
top notch, but this photo and some others posted recently show
it is really quite good.

Nice photo, the compositions is also good.
I like how the colour tones of the bus lane and the brownish lane next to it comes back in the buildings on the right side, only too bad they don't on the left

Thanks guys. I use The Gimp. Its mainly levels, contrast, and a tiny bit of saturation. The sky was pretty much blown so I used a grad filter to bring it back.

Nice shot HeavyD, But tell me how you managed to get your camera up there. I was up there recently and wasn't even allowed to carry a toothpick

This is not the Bridge Climb. This is the Pylon. 2 totally different tours. In fact, the Pylon is not really a tour. It costs less than $10 and you can hang up there as long as you want. How I would have loved to take a camera on the bridge climb.

I see, I wasn't aware you could go up on the pylon. Was just discussing it with the missus and we will take a trip up there in the near future.

I would have loved to take my camera up on the Bridge Climb, I did the twilight climb and it was amazing.

We Sydneysiders tend to take the harbour for granted but it really is one of the most beautiful harbours in the world

I really like the colours in your shot. The sky really finishes it off too.

I've had some good results with the 18-55mk2 as well... really pleased with it.

Its an underated lens. Far better than any Nikon or Canon kit lens. Ive been flamed for that comment before. I guess the truth hurts.
