I also held back because of the concerns expressed by many of the apparent lack of consistency of performance.

Pleased to say I got mine, as a Xmas present, from Park Cameras and it works fine. Brilliant lens and an incentive to get the DA* 50-135.

hi,

Have just the grip for my K10D - it is a must and allows all four fingers to solidly grip the camera.

Jessops - latest:-

"Perhaps the most surprising of the three was Jessops: the chain has been struggling in recent years due to the decline of digital camera sales, but it clearly enjoyed a welcome Christmas boost, with sales up 3.1% on last year. Unfortunately that’s where the good news ends: despite this late rally, Jessops still finished the quarter nearly 6% down on last year – and this sales lift has been funded partly out of profit margins (i.e. by heavy discounting)."

Will have to wait & see what their next strategy will be!

Interesting. I am watching an LCE store that has a DA 14mm, used, for a reasonable price. Need to wait till after New Year as bought too much.

Since this thread started back in October, several of us have ordered a DA50-200 (myself included) at various "bargain" prices but has anybody actually received one yet? Do they actually exist or has it all been an elaborate ruse to drive people to the Jessops website?
Many of us have received our lenses, all at discounted prices. Let us know if Jessops start shipping on the 5th.

According to the Sunday Times Business section, Jessops are trading debt for equity and forecast is for a difficult cash position in 1H '09.

May mean more bargains to be had.

Petercf I am waiting for you to mention that one word SALE!
Will keep my ears open, might just set a LSE tracker to catch any news from the city that would hint at such an activity.

20mm/F2 - wishful thinking on my part - you are right, just checked old catalogue, 20mm f2.8 and yes in the margin £400 to £600 scribbled in pencil.

I'm not that worried about SDM, but I would like an AF version of my M200/4.

Nice little lens; pretty sharp wide open, acts like a 300/4 on digital, tiny size (slips in the pocket), great IQ. What's not to like?
Love my M200/F4 as well, its always on my KM, or else its my M135mm/F3.5. So yes I guess a DA*200/F4 should be on my K10D - but, having done a Tiger safari back in March I was swapping between 200/F4 and 400/F8 using a 2x, so that would mean I need the DA*300/F4.

The lens I always wanted for my KM was the old M or A 20mm/F2 - super linear and whenever I looked it was still £600 secondhand. So that means I need a DA*14mm/F2, at the moment there is the DA 14mm/F2.8 so we are getting there.

Interesting I hardly ever use a 50mm.
