Pete. Can this product be bought in this country? I am interested.

regards Thoramay.
Hi Thoramay,

Sorry,I don`t know any more than you do on that! I just posted the link as i thought it would be of use to others. It covers a lot, In a very easy to understand way, I have seen light tents advertised in Uk for use in photographing items for E-Bay and i am sure the other pieces of kit should not be too difficult to find over here.
Sorry i can`t be of more help as i am not generally into this kind of photography. I usually get by with a few reflectors and diffusers but i found the site very useful all the same.

Sent 300 images off and i have been contributing around 100 images per month to one of them ever since! It has paid for all of my kit ever since including my K10D, K7 and 3 new lenses, Flashgun and Tripod etc...
Interesting! What sort of images are they after?

Best wishes, Kris.
Hi Womble, Sorry i have only just spotted your query!
The best thing that i can suggest is for you to get hold of the Freelance Photographers Market Handbook. Any of the past couple of years editions will give you all of the info that you need about many different ways of making money from your pics. And lists all manner of Photolibraries, Card, Calendar, Magazines, Books, etc and their terms of contract as they can differ considerably. You can pick up the 2010 copy on Amazon quite cheaply and i am sure that you will find something in there that will suite you. Personally i would like to keep my main one quiet as there are only 250 or so contributors! (Small fish, Small pool etc!!!) But they farm out my work to several other libraries, The biggest of which ALAMY has over 18,000,000 photographs of just about everything you can imagine (As long as it`s decent) That way i get more sales opportunity but a smaller share.
I hope that helps. Sorry for the delay in replying!

I'll redownload and have another play! How do you get the them lines up again they show on the tutorial
Hi Gareth,

It sounds like you were trying to zoom in a bit too much there!
I have not had a lot of time to play with all of the tools yet, When i first opened the programme the red balloon was over some back of beyond place,So all i did was zoom out to a size that showed where the UK was and moved the balloon over to it. Then just zoomed back in to the area`s that i was interested in getting Sunset pic`s at.The lines change angle as you move the balloon or change time or date. Of course there is so much more than that with this programme, Only that i have not had the time to try it all yet! I only found it half an hour before i posted it here!
I was photographing some Abseilers near south stack Lighthouse last night, If the sun had appeared, I knew that i was in the perfect position to get a Sunset shot! As it was i used Video mode until well after dark! Still i won`t ever get myself into the wrong position for a sunset like i have in the past! Several times i had been at a location and witnessed a stunning sunset but found it did not set in the position that i had imagined. I can check out all of my favourite haunts and work out the best times of year to get the angles that i want.

Hi just spotted this on the British Journal of Photography regarding the Digital Rights bill... T They are trying to encourage all photographers to contact their MP`s.
More info on the webpage and includes a draft letter and link.

It`s a difficult question to answer as i can go from waiting 3 or 4 hours for a single shot (and maybe even bin that one). Right up to taking several hundred in an hour and deleting only a few!
When i used to shoot transparency film (Kodachrome 64 mostly)i would get the film unmounted in a roll and generally on average keep 10% of the images. But after projecting them and living with them for a while i would bin even more. This was especially true if i had put a lot of effort into a shot. I would keep it, Even though it was below what i would normally consider acceptable.

I too carry my Camera over my shoulder attached to a Tripod but i normally check that it is secure first! On this occasion i had been photographing the Sunset at a beach and packed up half an hour after it had set. But as i drove away i spotted a lovely old footbridge at a small railway station and as there was still a little light left in the sky i decided to grab a quick shot or two. So i took only the Camera and tripod and attached it in a hurry without checking that the lever was fully home. The consequence of that little lapse you already know!

That`s a real shame, I thought Google Maps covered the whole of U.K?

Actually i just tried it on several locations from Llantwit Major to Barry Docks and it works perfectly. Did you install the Adobe Air first?

I have just downloaded the Photographers Ephemeris which was featured in last weeks Amateur Photographer Mag . A free prog which gives Sunrise and Sunset positions for any day past or present plus sun elevation, Shadows etc for any location using Google Mapslink There are a couple of Tutorials on the webpage plus a free downloadable Adobe Air which is needed to run the programme.
