Well, the pro isn't the one using the camera - use whatever you're happy and comfortable with.

As for the Nikon D7000 it probably is (arguably) a step up from the K-500, but so are the Pentax K-5 and K-3 series!

Impressively sharp - I'll be very pleased if I can capture something as good as that . . . . . . . . . . . . I'd better get out and practice my technique

Is it worth using a monopod for this kind of shot?

Thanks for that Chris.

I'll take my 100-300 when I go, and maybe try the 60-250 as well (or borrow a mate's Sigma 70-200 - sounds as though that could be the ideal lens for this)

Great shots.

This has been on my list of places to visit for a while now.

Which lens were you using?

Still available at Argos at the same price. A perfect fit - thanks

Bad luck with missing the Vulcan, but still some nice captures up above. I particularly like the Flying Fortress.

IIRC:
with Shake Reduction on, Horizon Correction corrects up to 1 degree.
with Shake Reduction off, Horizon Correction corrects up to 2 degrees.

An interesting bit of history that adds something to the photo's.
The first and last are my favourites.
Well done for your commitment in getting these pictures.

I have used a company/website called mymemory a few times and have found their prices to be quite good and their service first class.

I agree with the comment about buying brand name cards. I've had problems with cheap cards in the past, and nowadays use mostly (but not exclusively) sandisk.

The Tamron 70-300 is great value for money, and as already commented a good used one shouldn't be more than about £80.

I think the Pentax 55-300 is definitely a step up from the Tamron, and that would be my preference. But the downside is that it will cost more as well.

If you decide to get the Tamron it's a good first long zoom, and you shouldn't lose much money on it if you want to sell it later on.
