I don't know about the Pentax item, but I have one of the £40 copies and it works just fine. I've never had any issues with it.

Yes, it was always my intention to sell the 55-300, which I bought as a stop-gap until I could get the 60-250.

Hi all,
I am currently a happy owner of a DA* 50-135.
When I bought it, I always had it in mind to eventually get a DA* 60-250 as well. Although there is a lot of overlap between them, I thought because it is a faster lens it would be good to keep the 50-135 as well as the 60-250.
Now I'm wondering whether it's worth keeping both, or just go for the 60-250.
I know it's my decision at the end of the day, but I'd be grateful to hear your views.

I have a used "Pentax K Lens Mount Adapter to M42 Screw Lens" which I recently bought but do not now need, if that's what you are after. I have not used it myself.
£5 (inc. postage) and it's yours. PM if interested

I had a Sigma 10-20, and had great fun with it. I would by quite happy to recommend it. But it was a relatively big and heavy lens, and images a bit on the soft side. I sold it and bought a 15 limited, and doubt I'll ever sell that. Much smaller and lighter, and sharper. If I find it's not quite wide enough (not an issue I've had so far) I can always 'stitch' a couple of shots together.
For my money, the 15 is the one to go for.

For the Mac, take a look at 'Exif Editor', downloadable from the App store.

I agree - get a proper camera designer to re-design it and market it at a reasonable price, and it will sell to a lot of existing users as a backup camera body, as well as to new users.

I have a third party grip on my K-5 and am perfectly happy with it - no problems at all. It claims to be weather sealed, but I doubt it is really, and I'm sure the quality is not as good as the Pentax item, but it does the job just as well, still feels fairly robust, and if it should break, well, I can buy 5 of these for the price of 1 Pentax grip.
I'd rather spend the extra on a lens.

The K-5 is a good camera and a good price at the moment. There's always something better just around the corner, so you could be waiting forever! Bite the bullet and go for it, and use the extra money you'll save between the current cost of the K-5 and the model that will replace it to go towards a decent lens. You'll probably get more benefit from that.

BTW - I went from the K-x to a K-5 5 months ago and don't regret it.
That said, the K-x is a great little camera too and in some ways I wish I'd kept it as a backup camera. Oh well, needed to finance the K-5 somehow!
