What Digital Camera:

According to the exec, the next Samsung GX model will likely be more compact than its predecessors for starters. Likewise, Kim notes in the conversation that the 2009 will be a "bigger change" from what Samsung is currently offering than the GX20 was from the GX10.
I doubt they are talking about the hybrid-dslrs they are developing, because that's not a big change from the K20, that's a completely different sort of camera. That quote suggests something similar to the K-7 might be in the pipeline, because it would also pefectly describe the K-7 in relation to the K20D.

RSE 2006 always works well for me, and although they stopped updating it in 2006 it should work with DNG raw files.

Is the only difference between this and the K100D Super the dust removal?
The Ephotozine review confirms that sensor cleaning and SDM lens compatibility are about the only differences:

You can't knock the addition of sensor cleaning and sdm-lens compatibility, they're very welcome. However, a bit more spec-upgrading would have been nice to warrant the Super tag. With a good build quality, helpful beginner modes and largely easy-to-use controls you have a lightweight, yet solid camera, that's going to make it easy for the Pentax film upgrader or the newcomer to digital, to gain confidence in the DSLR world. The K100D Super has a better build quality than either the Canon or Nikon entry-level efforts.
The starter lens would be the 18-55 mark 1: link

So aftr all the reviews, could I easily swap the K-m bodyfor a K7 and she who must be obeyed / has no interest in photography notice the difference?
Probably not, until she looks at your bank balance...

It would be a shame not to get the new WR kit lens though.

Re video, it's just the latest keeping up with the Joneses thing, although by the look of it Pentax have gone way beyond the bare minimum. I would love HD video, but if Pentax did a K-7 'lite' (the ME Super to the K-7's LX) without HD and a few other features, for a bit less money, I would buy that one. It's the build quality/compact design/improved sensor that do it for me.

Well the camera is extremely clean, metering is spot on, it's easy to tweak the ISO, and it's pretty. So it's a keeper!

Well ok - it's unique in the current crop of sub £1000 (and in the K200D's case, sub £400) DSLRs!

Hi,

I've just downloaded RawShooterEssentials but it does not appear to support the K10D. Is that correct?

Dave
Not sure about that in terms of PEF files; I'll have to try it with the K200D, which should be the same format. It used to work with PEFs from my IstDL2, but the program hasn't been updated since Adobe bought the company that made it in 2006 link

However, DNG files should be fine!

Pentax need to differentiate themselves from the Nikons and Canons, and certainly the Sony's, and the weather sealing and durability of previous cameras and this one is something rather unique.

One can imagine the advert where Nikon and Canon users have to rush for cover in a rainstorm, and the Pentaxian keeps on shooting... (That idea is copyrighted btw lol).
