Love the design of these new Olys. Good idea making them look like little Olympus Trips, the epitome of a quality product for the masses! I hope Samsung try a similar tack with their K-mount designs, maybe introduce a swivel screen to compensate for lack of optical viewfinder. Electronic viewfnders don't really seem particularly worthwhile to me.

Surely if the K20D was lumped in with the middle ground cameras, and surely it's pricing put it in this category, it would have compared extremely well?

The K10D made a reappearance in the recent second-hand special; it was made clear that it had been reviewed respectably in the 'enthusiast' category (whatever that means) up against cameras like the D300 etc. Perhaps cameras should be reviewed simply in price brackets, rather than these nebulous categories lol.

As far as the Pentax = Amateur thing, Pentax's real pro credentials are in medium format, perhaps the release of the beast they are currently working on will have the change the perception of the brand in the minds of people for whom this is an issue... I'm not one of them - but if it does the company good, great.

Pro-sumer is a ridiculous term and always has been... historically it used to refer to high-end compacts, but even then didn't make any sense. Can't real professionals use such cameras? It could be worse, I heard the K-m referred to as the perfect 'bridge' camera on one review!

I like the stillness of the [fourth] one, the perfect reflections. Not sure about the placement of the chimney though.

This week's AP. Please tell me where the Canon-Nikon bias is!

Thanks all, I ended up getting a Sigma super-wide from ebay, one cropped up on Saturday.

These lenses seem to be getting a good reputation as second hand buys: link

I can't agree with that. AP always seem very good to me, although there signs they are gradually dumbing down to be more like the other magazines. But they seem to give more coverage to Pentax than others do, if you ask me.
