Looks like a fun camera to have next to your Pentax right.
They only need some more of those pancake prime lenses and you've a nice system I think
The lens prices seems in order only the camera is a bit expensive.

I did actually prefer the look of the pre-production version (very Werra I thought) but this looks great! I'll be interested to see what Samsung come up with regarding their new micro format but this has certainly grabbed my attention!

Hefty it would be great to have such a camera that you can use with limited lenses.

That's why I'm waiting on Samsung. If they produce something comparable in size but with better K-mount integration then they'll probably get my money instead.

I'll wait for Ricoh to produce something similar, there has been quite some discussion about them producing a GX200 style camera but with a larger sensor and interchangeable lenses.

Their construction and ergonomics are hard to beat, the GX100 & 200 are delightful little cameras and have the advantage of having that very neat clip in EVF and also a pop-up flash, both are missing on the Oly.
Best regards

Love the design of these new Olys. Good idea making them look like little Olympus Trips, the epitome of a quality product for the masses! I hope Samsung try a similar tack with their K-mount designs, maybe introduce a swivel screen to compensate for lack of optical viewfinder. Electronic viewfnders don't really seem particularly worthwhile to me.

Well, previous interchangeable-lens Ricohs have used a K-mount so maybe..?

I'm not rushing to spend money just yet but I like the way certain segments of the camera market are moving!

All very well, but will it blend?

Total waste of time.... No Viewfinder.
Better cameras were made years ago.

I like the Trip-like look of them.

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

Maybe for you. But for a lot of people, the idea of a relatively cheap, ultra compact, APS-C sensor body that accepts K-mount lenses is an intriguing idea, even with the viewfinder compromise. Particularly if it meant they stepped up production of the DA 21mm lens.

The lack of a viewfinder doesn't worry me, after all this would be (for me) a replacement for a compact camera not my SLR. As such it's competing for my attention with the likes of the Panasonic LX3 and Sigma DP2 - neither of which have viewfinders either.

If the new Samsung looks anything like the ugly blob in the post above then Olympus are looking a better bet by the minute...

I wonder if Pentax will ever get into this market? So far as I can see their previous compact-camera efforts (film and digital but excepting the Auto 110) have been decidedly half-hearted at best.
