It's known in the trade as 'perspective'.
You could try expanding the right hand side of the photograph.

No probs I will put some pics up later when I get home.
I cant help feeling I will be 'shot down in flames' but I am confident of my ability.

I don't want to fall out with anybody and will happily offer my critique of other's photographs which I am sure they will find useful.

I am just 'thinking outside the box' here and not everybody can see the intelligence in what I an trying to say. But this is not a bad thing as I may help other people to think more.

You see, some of the images this thread has generated are outstanding. They are head and shoulders above the majority of flower and insect shots that I have seen on here.
I don't personally like snaps of birds and flowers. They are boring and lack impact and IMHO I dont see the point of them. I would rather look at a pic of a brick wall.
Nobody learns anything from polite back slapping.

Chaps, was unable to reply as have been on a 24 drinking spree round Bradford.
Just to let you know I recently aquired a Pentax dslr hence joining the forum. I am not new to photography so consider myself a bit more of an 'expert' than your average point and shoot merchants.
Anyway judging by the responses it is clear to me that some of you agree with what I am saying.

There seems to be lots of user photos of flowers and insects on this forum.
Now don't get me wrong, but IMHO this doesn't take much effort or imagination,
Simply bang your DSLR into AE mode, pop on a fancy/expensive lens and set to max aperture.
All resulting images will look impressive due to:
a} Quality of gear used £££££
b) Shallow DOF

It's a bit of a cheap thrill really for not a lot of skill.
But as I said at the start this is just my opinion (but I am sure there are others who share my view).

I like this shot Chris and I think you have improved it, but what I don't like is the trees is in foreground, they reduce the impact of the castle.

Cheers Chris. Do you know in theory if it will handle the 16gig?

It's got 8x zoom.
I am really disappointed that dust got into it, I thought with it being a 'sealed unit' this would not happen.
