Through the door...

It's bad enough getting shot down most of the time on here and now I'm having to take insults from a man who lists what sort of rucksack he has.

I'm simply trying to make the transition from film to digital.
If they did a digital version of the ME Super with just ISO 125 and 400 like the HP films and aperture exposure all would be fine for me.

But now I am faced with hyper program this and hyper transfer that and ISO 68 million and flash modes for this and that and mysterious green buttons.

Hence my decision to stick with PENTAX and join this forum so I could use my old lenses and learn some new skills but now everybody has super duper limited £800 quid jobs and £1000 quid cameras (not just one either, some folk have 3 or 4 listed) so I'm finding myself up against it again with old and budget gear.
That said I am determined to carry on until I get better!

Prieni thankyou very much for taking a bit of time to explain about my shots. This has inspired me and whilst driving into work this morning I believe I was actually thinking like a real photographer.
I have seen some new things that I want to shoor and post up here.
I am also feeling pretty confident about having a stab at one of the competitions.
Thanks again for your encouragement. I am just havi g a bit of a struggle moving from my film me super to the high tech world of digital.

FYI I have decided to join Digital Answers Digital SLR Skills Bootcamp. Not only does it cater for beginers, but also more experienced photographers.
I am hoping to find a 'study buddy'.

I am also ordering one of those magic light manuals as I don't think Pentax have done a good job with the manual, it hasn't helped me so far.

Hopefully some better shots are on their way!

TechnoTerminator I've got a K10 (had it since Monday).
I've got a kit LENS, a 16 to 45 a 55 to 300 (i think) a 28mm manual focus a 50mm manual focus a 40 to 80 macro manual focus and a 80 to 200 manual focus

Right Gareth, I'll tell you what I'm going to do. I'm going to try and take some more shots, have a real think about what I'm doing before I take them and read the K10 manual. Then I'll put them up here for you and others to critique.

I was trying to get a nice 'bold' yellow colour, like a 'block' of colour so detail didn't factor in my mind when taking the shot.

Would I get more detail with a more expensive lense?

I'd love to come along to a meet and learn new stuff. As I said I've just got my DSLR so I'm just working out how to use it.
