Yves, I know it will take you both a long time to get over the death of your dog. Beta died 18 months ago and we are only just about managing to remember all the joy she bought us and talk about things she used to do now. Commiserations to you both

While we are all waiting for the pictures from the Lakes, I thought as it was such a beautiful day I would give hand help macros another stab.
This is my favourite as I love the colours.

Peter,

OK you got most of it right It was the Sigma 105mm Macro which I love. I used a Sigma EM-140 DG PA-PTTL ring flash. I used F16 as I was told off for using F5.6 on the Bee yesterdays I used TV. The problem was the position of the spider! I had to climb into a flower bed and had difficulty setting up the tripod to be steady and its windy up here again I had just had a conversation with a friend who had commented on the difficulty he'd had trying to take a shot of a flower. Both agreeing that people won't believe just how much wind we get here - ats always windy I don't think the spider is going too far so I will have another go wind or no wind

I can't believe I have been reduced to patrolling my garden in search of creepy crawlies to photograph I am a bit disappointed cos I think it was eating what had been a prettier insect

Thanks. I'm gad you like them. I must confess I am really pleased I managed to get the flight shots

Martin, Thanks, I wasn't sure if that worked or not. I was expecting to be told I had cropped too much

I thought I had managed to break my ring flash so had to go and practise. I am thinking of producing a calendar of my macro and or British birds and mammals shots to give away as Christmas presents. I normally do an African wildlife one but am considering something different this year. Would any of these be suitable. Some uploaded the rest linked.

Thanks
