these are your best macros so far. Have you been taking tuition in secrecey is it? You have improved them tremendously.
Well done. You even managed the insects in flight, that is quite an accomplishment

Thanks. I'm gad you like them. I must confess I am really pleased I managed to get the flight shots
Martin, Thanks, I wasn't sure if that worked or not. I was expecting to be told I had cropped too much

While we are all waiting for the pictures from the Lakes, I thought as it was such a beautiful day I would give hand help macros another stab.
This is my favourite as I love the colours.

This one isn't quite so good but its my first proper butterfly, I belive it is a Painted Lady

And finally I am not sure if this Bee shot works?

I was asked to clone out the wood on a photo I loaded to the gallery and rather than start a new post I decided to add the picture to one of my old ones! Here is the cloned picture, it the first time I have tried cloning. Also a copule more Peacock butterfly shots from today.

Not bad, but by varying the target area you're cloning from, you can avoid the repeated patterns you got here. It can be very tricky to get things looking right, as often the brightness and/or colour will vary quite a bit, and the area you're cloning from, especially in a shot like this, can easily have a different sharpness to the bit you're cloning to.Here is the cloned picture, it the first time I have tried cloning.
Tonally yours looks right, but try again and see if you can avoid those patterns.

Thanks Dan. I saw the repeated pattern straight away But as it was my first attempt I was just pleased to have done it at all I will go away and try again
