Hi,
Sorry to start this one up again as I know it caused a lot of disagreement and some hurt feelings. However, while out walking in the Peaks on Sunday I came across an interesting scene which is relevant to Amin's experience and soe of the comments made about invasion of privacy and perceived threat or risk. We were just finishing our walk and were following a stream so I could have a go at some moving water shots, when right in front of me stood a stark naked 2-3 year old toddler, happily playing near or in the stream. He was with his parents. Then I saw a few more all contentedly playing in the water on a hot morning. Nothing wrong with that and perfectly natural. However, I had my camera in my hand and I wasn't the only person there with a camera or video. It would have been very easy to take some pictures without of the kids without people realising. However, nobody got stressed, nobody called the police. People were just happily enjoying being at a beautiful location on a lovely day with lots of other people doing the same thing in various ways. I did take a few shots of the water and again nobody thought anything of somebody taking pictures close to naked kids! Just an example of a different experience near kids.

I had a go with this lens some time ago with no very good results Decided Sunday was too nice a day to miss weather wise and managed to persuade a friend to join me on a "walk" in the Peak District to try and get some shots I really must remember that Derbyshire people start "walking in the Peaks" as soon as they can toddle and then just keep going After a 6 mile round hike up to the "tops" I am still suffering today Anyhow, I did manage a few shots with various lenses - yes I took a full kit with me including a tripod that wasn't used this is possible the best. Does it work? How could it be impoved? Was it the wrong lens? Taken with the K20D, F9.5, ISO 200 focal length 50mm, speed 1/45th.

Hi Howard,

I have noticed this as well and also how some photos on the gallery don't receive any comments either! So I went and looked at all your posts to see if I was one of the guilty It seems I have only ever reponded to one of your posts - sorry My reasons for not reponding to posts are varied. At the moment, due to a tough time at work, I am just not in the mood usually, it is because I don't feel qualified to comment on a subject matter I don't shoot myself, or sometimes other people's comments make me feel they are more experienced in the subject to comment than I am. Also, as I work long days, sometimes posts drop off the recent activity view. However, a while back I went through a phase of checking the unanswered topics to see if there were any I could respond to in an attempt to get other people involved, but I haven't done that recently

Have you considered getting a second hand one? I have just got Sigma EF530 DG ST flashgun in mint condition from www.ffordes.com for £79 they rrp at about £169. It didn't come in a box or with a manual but I have downloaded the manual from the Sigma website. Just an idea.

Hi Lee,

You have some lovely images in your collection. Of the above I really like your Victoria Fall shot and the Hippo. The Giraffe seems a bit uncolourful (if that's a word!)or lacking in contrast. Male Lions are very hard to make look good in my experience and this may have been better as a head shot and its a shame he is in the shadows as you got the catch light in his eyes. I have waited ages on safari for male lions to lift their heads up to get a decent shot only to miss it when they have The Impala and Oxpecker is good but you took off his legs The Roller is nice but might have been better cropped in closer Just my opinon and I am sure others will disagree. The important things is whether or not you like them?

Can I ask who you went with as I am looking for a photographic safari in Zambia?
