You dont even need a lens to take some pictures. Of course others will have made lots better than this but I have at least had a go.
By the way this is a Kx with extention tubes and a pinhole in the silver paper.

Hi all, Hope you have a good weekend in My Norfolk. I would like to join you but plans will see me elsewhere. This week I am chauffeuring the wife and next week is BSB at Snetterton.

She seems to see every bird to be seen and I believe her father was one of the first Wardens at Titchwell, who has also wriiten at least one book on the subject.
Best of luck at the Hardwick roundabout on the Kings Lynn bypass. This is the first after the Gt. Ouse river, keep to the left approaching and then in the centre lane at the roundabout. Watch out for the traffic lights at roundabout,what a farce, We do know how it works!!

I've had a little go at it using an Acuter 80mm. This has a T2 thread under the eyepeice rubber so was easy to mount a Pentax on to it.
Had mixed results and being honest the best was after making an adapter to fit over a Fuji compact digital. With the T2 fitting I fitted extention tubes to it and then the camera which gave a more adjustable zoom with different tubes.
These are a reasonable price scope if you just want to play. There is a difference in this and a £800 opticron but for £150 I think it aint half bad.

You could try a Pentax AF240Z. There is one on E**y for £15 with free postage. I got one recently for my K-x and can vouch for this model to work (does on mine).
It has a full power manual setting, An Auto setting and a P setting. It talks to the camera on P with camera on same P setting and resets the aperture and the shutter speed to suit. Also shows charged indicator in veiwfinder.
Worth a thought. Be careful of other makes as some of the old flashes have a very high operating voltage on the hotshoe contacts and could fry the camera! Or so lots of people have said. Maybe you will use it on a slave but sometime could just want it on the hotshoe.

I am now the proud owner of a K5. Upgraded from Kx with the prices as they are now and the cashback, Just couldn't resist it. Been considering it and the probable replacement will be miles over my prices.
Just tried the self clean on sensor which on the Kx really rattles like a tin of nails but could not hear anything whatsoever Questioned to myself about a fault but remembered reading this posting. Had a good search and up it came.
All okay according to how this posting reads.
Could be worth remembering this then if you are a K5 user or considering buying one.
Lots of reading and trials to be done to learn to control this camera. It came with firmware 1.01 although photome shows this years build. I have upgraded to 1.13 so don't know what any difference would be but this seems okay.
