I have used my 35 f/2, 50 f/1.7, 77 limited, and 100mm macro for formal portraits. For street shots I use my 17-70 or 55-300 zoom.

One factor to consider is the relationship you want with the subject. Getting physically close gets a different reaction. Sometimes it's what you want, sometimes it isn't.

My sister's son told her that if she tried to clean a DSLR sensor she would ruin it. Has to be cleaned by a shop. When I was giving her my old IstD, in intentionally left some dust on the sensor. I showed her how to check, then I cleaned the sensor with fluid and wipes. When I finished she said, "That's it?"

Yep. Brushes and blowers are even easier if they get the job done but a wet clean with Eclipse isn't a big deal.

I visit another forum, Pentax Users, and they're requesting more information before I can use the forum. Unfortunately, their site insists I have an MSN handle and if I do I don't remember it. But, I can't send them an email saying I can't provide the information until I've provided the information I don't have.

If anyone else visits that forum, would you ask them to put the "contact us" outside the loop so I can email them?

I'm in the process of ordering a K20 if my sister can bring it to me in Mexico. Aside from the price, I simply don't need, or want, video or live view and some of the other improvements on the K7.

I don't use a bag. I wear my camera as I stroll around town and it's a major pain when the mode dial moves and a minor pain when the focus dial moves.

I am old. I lived in Florida BAC--before air conditioning. Our Sunday shoes would grow fungus sitting in the closet. My dad put lightbulbs near the floor in the closet and solved that problem. In my opinion, Ventilation and air movement are the real secret. A sealed box, if it has any humidty in it, would aggravate the problem. The silica gel bags can certainly work but in really humid places they can, well, fill up with moisture.

I believe the rear cap would be the same as for any other Pentax lens. I use a Snapcap on my 50mm 1.7.

I don't run benchmarks and I've never taken a picture of a page from a newspaper. I have the 12-24 and think it's great. I like the resulting photos.

1. I have Pentax lenses and I don't have one where the quality is unacceptable.

2. Since I started taking photos before zoom lenses, I love primes. I have a 35, 50, 77, 100macro. On the other hand, I've learned to value the convenience of zooms. My primes come out for special occasions or conditions. My daytime walk-around lens is my 17-70 zoom.
