Thanks for your response, Matt. I'll have to verify how will the JPGs prints look like: is their brightness going to be correct or are they going to be too dark? So I'll try smaller prints first.

A question: Silkypix systematically shows all my PEF images a few grades too dark compared to Xnview and Picasa. The same PEF image seems to have the right brightness in XnView while in Silkypix I would decrease it brightness by about 1/2EV or 2/3EV. The same happens for Picasa. I was looking for a display brightness setting in Silkypix but only colour profiles are available. Has anybody experienced similar problem?

Btw my monitor is standard Toshiba satellite P100 17'' LCD, calibrated by Wiziwyg (I'll try to borow Huey for a day or so).

Just a word on sensor cleaning: I am regularly (which means once in a few months) using compressed air in can. Laboratory one, though, not containing oil. There can be some liquid coming in the spray jet but if you follow the instructions (do not tilt more than 20 degrees, in other words keep it vertically), end of spray tube about 7-10cm from the sensor and of course you try spray once or twice outside the camera before, I usually remove everything I need. However this method is not recommended by Pentax.

I've heard that the diaphragm of this lens (Sigma 100-300 f/4 EX IF, without DG) doesn't work with digital cameras and I wondered if this is true for Pentax. Does anybody have experience with this lens (not the new DG version)?

Yes the temperature info is nice The lens ID isn't always correct, especially with third party lenses. And even I found the Shutter count line in PhotoMe (apart from other infos like the focusing point used to focus being red in the preview figure, etc.

Yes the MZ5n is a great piece of camera. I have even been recently using it with AF which is what I had done previously only very rarely. I would like to try the Z1p but the budget and time for photography are somewhat restricted. Like our baby - not much toys but good ones!

And in any case, there is always old good manual focus... and very often as fast as AF. At least at the MZ-5n and with some experience.
Second thing: allow some time to get used to the AF. It's not straight forward as on would say if used to MF.

Thanks for your advices. I tried GIMP with a special script but it does not fulfill my expectations - and it was not able to do a batch conversion either. So I'll look further, try Elements and Photofiltre.

The AF360FGZ wireless feature is briefly described in the flash's manual. Though very incomplete, I made it work successfully. The rest of this discussion is very interesting though I'm still struggling with simple flash photography.
