Hi all!

I have just had some product availability information which I thought I would share.

Pentax K20D Body Refurbs - I have had a small amount already, but I am due a small number later this week. £389 delivered(UK!) to a forum member. Please can forum members put their User Name in the Special Instructions box when ordering via the web to ensure postage is not charged

Pentax 60-250 - Still on course for late November although stocks will be limited. I had a play with one the other day and it is very impressive. Very solidly made and being SDM very quick on the focus front.

Pentax AF160C - Due end of November. Retail price = £429. Again, I saw one the other day and it worked well.

Pentax 55/1.4 SDM - Due late January

Pentax SDM Converter - This has been confirmed as being 1.4x and is due 'Spring' 2009

Pentax K-m - On course to be with us the last week of October. £50 cashback from launch.

Sigma:
4.5mm Fisheye & 10mm Fisheye - Due December

120-400 & 150-500 - Due late November. These are SDM lenses but don't have an image stabiliser built in.

18-125 - Due November. Again as far as we know this is SDM and again don't have an image stabiliser built in.

EM 140DG Ringflash - Due November

Hope this helps... As ever call/mail/PM me for any more information.

Chris,

How much warranty with the K20D refurbs?
Are these factory or Langley refurbs with all originally shipped bits 'n bobs?

Hi Peter,

I am happy to include a 2 year warranty with a refurb to forum members (it is normally 1 year)

Most of this stock is ex-demo/show stock and will have been checked in Langley. We check all is ok here before shipping/selling in the shops.

Oh c**p, that throws a spanner in the works.
I was planning on buying a Sigma 100-300mm f4 up until that happened.

How much for delivery to Spain on the K20D Chris?

Oh, are the shot counters reset to zero when they are refurbished?

Ouch!
That hurts seeing that K20D refurb price having just bought one new only a little while ago And still not sold the K10D to help fund it...
Dang!

I will apply this offer for any refurb SLR bought from August 08

Sorry Matt.. I will sort you something special when you need something else!! I could always sell the K10D for you on a commission basis. They don't hang around long...

Same here Matt. I did get the cash back though. To be fair, if you wait for prices to come down too far, you'll wait forever . . . then a new body is announced, and you wait again.

Who'd have thought that refurb'd K20D's would be available so soon anyway?

Chris is a good egg though, he's always been fair with me. I'll not buy anywhere else.

Absolutely agree with you Peter
It's just the pain factor!
Like you, I have no intention buying from anywhere else - Chris and colleagues have always been informative, helpful, and well informed.

Chris - I might ring you about the K10D
Thanks!

I think I am going to have one of the K20Ds, would like to know about the shot counter first though, I am back in the UK in about 5 weeks time for a quick visit so could have it delivered to a friend and pick it up then, will save a bit of postage. How much for a MKII kit lens to go with it Chris?
I am a bit suprised by the price of the ringflash, I presume Sigmas offering will be cheaper and also be P-TTL ?

Which shot counter??
There's an internal shot counter (which is visible in the EXIF through PhotoME) and the shot counter that you can manually reset yourself - the one that numbers the images you take.

What's your concern Mike?

The internal shot counter, obviously I want to make sure its not been overused, only I am allowed to do that

Where is this internal counter in PhotoMe Matt? I've looked for it several times, without success. Does the image have to be a JPG, I use PEF 100%.

Peter, it's definitely in PEF format. It's under the "Manufacturer's Notes" section. About half way down the section you should find the "SR Result" information and underneath that the "Shutter Count"

(Other interesting fields: "Camera Temperature", the Lens ID & name, "Manufacture Date", "Camera has been serviced?", and "Internal Serial Number?" ) Pentax have really packed in the information into the EXIF - much more than Canon do

Mike: Not sure that it matters - if Chris is offering 2 year warranty, and the shutters are spec'd to 100k actuations then I don't think you have a real problem. At that price it's too good to miss
