A well observed series. Super place, isn't it?

Even though I only live a short distance away from Calke and visit it regularly it still remains one of my favourite National Trust Houses. It never fails to grab my attention with it's faded grandeur, tentatively holding on to it's past glory days.

Taken with my trusted Panagor 90mm f2.8 I think at 400 iso. Not your typical interior shots I know, but I like different.

Only really use AV and tend to control the shutter speed with the ISO Fn button.

Oooops that's shoved up the price of the M 135mm then

It's our secret, don't tell everyone.

If your house sets on fire, don't let the insurer see this picture of a 60W bulb in a 40W watt fitting.

Nice lens. Is it fire proof?

Regards
Using a 60w bulb in this day and age the man should be taken outside and shot.

Love the pics though so you are forgiven, off to search ebay.

I think the term "Kit Lens" implies that in some way it is an inferior product to be discarded at the earliest opportunity, but these results show that it is a very strong performer for very little money. Maybe we should re-access it's abilities and start using it more.

I'd have to agree, someone with a particular flair for photoshop can mask the little flair they have for photography. I tend you use photoshop less and less and use the inbuilt editor in Vista, if the image is crap it gets binned, I don't spend hours trying to manipulate it into something it's not.

Unfortunately the general opinion is they are average at best, I believe they were a manufacturer in their own right so there may be some good examples out there but I doubt it, until one of the members proves me wrong of course. In terms of price point I wouldn't go much beyond £30-40 and even then I'd be wary. There are better lenses out there with stronger reputations but if that's your budget take a punt, you never know.
