Hi

Nice colors - good sky!!

A suggestion could be to crop some of the bottom off. Perhaps just below the power boat...I would do that

Nice set Clarky....Make me remember my days in Sydney a few years back.

#2 is by far the best shot - very nice composition and colors.

I agree about the first one - make it horizontal - that would be a lot better. Nice exposure control.

The Luna Park shot - I cant figure what you aimed at - It seems a bit soft/out of focus. Thats holds me off a bit.

Overall - a very nice set of shots from the harbor.

#ChrisA

I don't think you will have anyone after you I think most of us found this weeks theme a bit hard. I picked a picture of a duck which my two girls played with in the bath last night.

Not a brilliant shot - but technical I liked the outcome and it showed something that my girls had fun with. I could had showed a picture of both the girls in the tub playing - but then again my wife isn't to keen about posting pictures of the kids on any forum....so I picked the duck.

Then again.....I agree - anything is something we see during the day

Brian - viewing those shots I dont think you did this:

5. When shooting your test pics, you need to be close enough that the test chart somewhat more than fills the frame. Get nice and close.

I can see a lot of "non-white" in your shots (table).....this might help as well.

To be sure - try a shot in a dark situation - using the pop up flash. See if it happens again....

It should...

I think it's using the flash as an auto-focus assist lamp. It's in the manual somewhere, and it doesn't happen very often.

Sounds quite right - It happens in dark situations and is more likely to happen with the kit lens.

Did it fire the shot? Was it dark?

Very nice shots - like #1 and 2 the most. Beautiful bokeh on the first one.

All those macro shot made me go for a macro - Damn that LBA - is so hard to choose.

Went to a photo evening with Casper Tybjerg - a "world renown" danish nature photographer (unfortunately he uses N*****) http://www.ttf.dk/Dansk/Forside.aspx - he had some cracker phots of spiders - just as you Clarky. (actually this shot was priced best nature shot 2003 - http://www.ttf.dk/Dansk/Foto/GALLERI/Natur.aspx (the green spider shot)

It sparkled his career - and he know works as a photographer and "photo journalist".

Anyway - Sigma had a small stand at the show - in the breaks we could see and touch the whole product range - with some very nice prices. So - I ordered the 105mm macro and I'm getting it tomorrow

The prices was very good (for danish prices) and on same level as SRS and others - but without the shipping. So overall a very good offer

Can't wait to go shooting some bugs and flowers......
