Maybe that's why the K10/20D batteries have three terminals. One terminal (+ common) could be for the internal battery/capacitor.
Closely examining my three batteries, of which one is genuine.
I see only two poles. One plus and one minus.
Can you enlighten me, please?

I have used D-range in my K20D with EXIF data telling "Expanded Dynamic Range: yes" & "Shake Reduction: Enabled" at the same time.

I question that this D-range function is based on photos taken with time interval.

I would guess the RAW file is used to produce two or more JPG conversions with different sensitivity (ISO) and then merged internal in camera.

Does any documentation exist on the nature of D-range in Pentax K20D/K7?

And how is the post process of HDR in-camera working on the same units?

EDIT: I am sorry for overlooking that this thread is about K7 only.
Can the question still remain or can somebody tell me the best thread to ask it?

I thank every contributor in this thread.

Since using several PC's, using photos mostly for the web and not having ambitions on going professional, I will consider continue using sRGB instead.

And may I please add:

4th Question: Will photos made with AdobeRGB colour profile on K20D, in any way, be unpleasant to view on other PC's running sRGB or WinXP automatic colour profile choise?

I am new to Pentax, new to dSLR.
Purchased my K20D a month ago.
Learning curve is not steep but endless.

I want to see if I get a better working habbit with better results out of running AdobeRGB in the settings of the camera.

I suppose, when printing, the printer is meant to use the same colour profile?
In my Canon printer it's called AdobeRGB (199.

1st Question: Is AdobeRGB(199 the same profile as the K20D AdobeRGB?

In properties of desktop on my Samsung Syncmaster 957 CRT screen, I have an option of finding a AdobeRGB(199 colour profile as well.
However, in my ATI graphic card Catalyst Control Center there is no such option as to choose colour profile.

2nd Question: Will it be enough to go through properties of the desktop in WinXP for choosing AdobeRGB(199 colour profile?

When choosing AdobeRGB(199 colour profile, I see no change on the screen.

3rd Question: Will it be without troublemaking visible effect on other software appearance and printing, constantly running both screen and printer in AdobeRGB (199 colour profile?

I appreciate any response enlightening me on this subject.

I am going for the Kata 3N1-30 myself.

I have the biggest Lowepro AW trekker roller something and it's a sturdy, voluminous great bag with many gimmicks but it's too big and heavy for a daytrip.

Then I have a Canon rucksack. that one is too smal, too fragile and bad karma.

It will not be until September-october before I buy the Kata bag.
But I made up my mind.
However, for style, my wife and I agree on the National Geographic bags are cool.

Try check up on it and see if some of that could tempt you.

Sometimes K20D gets a bit critics for the Live-View function.

I wonder if anybody can report of the quality of the ZigView S2 Type B fitting the Pentax VF?

I would make it into a classic +4 lens kit and I think my choise for APS-C cropping would be 15/35/77/135/2XTC.
And macro on one of the long ones or a reverse ring.
