A good set. It is the first three that really appeal to me.

Hello all,
This weeks weekly competition is open for entries. I'm hoping we can muster a few more entries than last week.
Looking forward to your entries on the theme "The Human Condition"

A very nice set, well seen and framed.

Like the previous commentators, I really like the whole set. There is certainly something about the light and the dark of No.8 but, the whole set is stunning in my opinion.

The first two for me - simple and abstract. With the last three, realism and abstract seem to be in conflict.

So that's one vote for the last 3 and one for the first 2 so far - that's a lot of help!

Steve
I see the first two as abstract and the last 3 as being more impressionistic.
Thank you for your thoughts all.
I do enjoy the slightly randomness and unexpected results from doing this kind of mucking about. I think my personal favourite from the silver birch shots is the 3rd image as it achieves a little of what I was after, it shows enough to get a good idea of how the scene was whilst leaving space for the imagination.

At a local house and garden they have an steep sided hollow with Silver Birch trees planted on both sides. I've tried to photograph this rather lovely part of the garden a few times and never been happy with the results. At the weekend I decided to try ICM, I'm quite pleased with some of the results. The last two photographs are in camera multi exposures with ICM, some trees and the last a view of the plant fair that was in progress. Any thoughts or observations welcome.

A beautiful, stunning, serene, moody-melancholy, atmospheric set of photographs.
Agree with Defragged.
Scrolling through the photographs I thought things can't get any better then the final shot No.17 WOW! What a shot to finish on! It would be great to see these at a larger size than this site allows.

All good, the last has impact but my favourite is the first image, great atmosphere.

Interesting to see the two inverted variations. On balance I'm preferring the crop, the top lily pads are too strong and draw my eyes away from the tree which is the part I'm really enjoying but, you do lose something with the crop. I've got a different idea, how about if the top lily pads were just darkened down a little with a local adjustment brush?
Just kicking the can, hope you don't mind.
