Mike, Im afraid I must say that you SHOULD spend your money.

The feel of the thing is incredible. Have you held one in your hand?

THe K-7 is very fast at focusing. I only had 3 K10's until now, and this is a HUGE step forward. On the FA lenses (including the 31) its miles faster and more accurate, also in very low light. ON the DA* its faster, noticeably, but mainly it doesn't hunt at all. I took this one photo as a test; Stood in front of the ride at maximum speed (probably around 50mph) and selected AF.C to see if it could track the faces of the riders. Also, I tried both single shot - and Hi speed fps.

This below is not the most in focus I have, but the nicest for the subjects' expression. THe focussing was actually accurate on at least 9 photos out of 13 (in Hi fps). Obviously its nothing of a scientific test, but with my K10, I could have achieved this only by manual focussing, and trap-in-focus (or whatever its called...)

f5.6 1/500 sec. ISO 100 / as you can see, it was so fast that even 1/500 couldn't freeze the motion...

Well, really sorry to having missed the meet, I've instead done a lot of photography work at home, and then went out to the London Mela across the road to give the K-7 something interesting to do on this beautiful day.
I must say that I am shocked at the speed, and accuracy of the camera, and I had so much fun with it...

All with DA* 50-135 -

I'm trying to get a decent image for web use, these are incredibly ruined (noise..) by the resising, anybody has any idea?

thanks Jim.

I use CS4, and ACR, so |I am not going to use the Pentax software. Nonetheless, I am sure its as feature packed as the camera is!

Yep, its great!

I'm not going to write a whole review about it.... but its great! Really really fast, very good feel.

I am actually thinking that Pentax has packed with with even too many features, its incredible the stuff you can do with this camera.

Ok, not going to make it, its too far of a drive for a sunday, and I have the London Mela at 2 steps from my house. I would have loved to come, but the Mela will actually inspire me more, with street/people/fast action/concert shots

Hope to see you all another time, maybe a bit closer to west london?

Yep, the EV metre is much more important for me as well. I will shoot in M most of the times, and cannot use the level adjustment

Still awesome shutter sound....

Ahhhhh Rubbbbbishhhh

I have only NOW noticed this thread, this is SO annoying.

Just asked the wife if she wants to come out there in the wild, and meet old grumpy people from the pentax forum, and she almost packed her bags....

I would absolutely LOVE to come, it is quite far having been to Aylsbury not long ago, it took me about an hour.... But I might decide to give the brand new (arrived TODAY) K-7 an outing... we'll see.

I won't make it for 10:30 though, would anybody be so kind to help me out with a text, or phone number, in case I decide to arrive say, around 12?

THank you,

Nathan
