I photograph children all the time, and knowing how to use my camera, I struggle to believe that I would get 1 usable photo out of 200. So either something went wrong, or you haven't approached the 'job' with the correct preparation.

Quote:
You know what they say about working with children or animals . . . don't do it.
I perfectly understand the humor of the quote, I was trying to take a serious perspective, in order to help out. It clearly is not needed.

So the advice is: Don't EVER photograph children or animals EVER again!

it is not better than the sigma or tamron equivalent.
And its very far from the 55-300 that is better than all three other lenses.

But its quite a bit more expensive.

Does this help?

Indeed, its just a heads up for your consideration.

I work with children (that's my full time job), and I have been employed as camp photographer in the past, apart from covering youth events all the time. So 2 things I learnt:

1 In the UK you can take photos of minors if you have parental consent.
2 If you have taken photos of children, the parental consent form must mention where you are going to publish your photos. In my case, when I was employed, I couldn't post the photos anywhere and had to only send them in the main office of the organisation.

This is only my personal experience, and I hope it helps.

Dr Mhuni,

The only thing I can tell you is that I think you should be careful posting photographs of children without their parental consent.

In the UK, this is a serious matter, and working with kids, and often photographing events, I can only suggest you don't post images on the net without thinking about this issue.

Kindest regards,
Nathan
