I got lucky and managed to get the only one that's been on eBay UK in the last 12 months recently. The cost of these new is close to criminal, imo.

I think you'll like the 24, I've seen some landscapes from you that would suit this peferctly

I havn't put up any shots with it but overall one of my nicer ones, better than most -a series lenses. I like it because it's a bit wider than a 28 but not insanely distorted like 17mm. Usual lens things apply, ie softer wide open etc.

Finally got round to doing a pic after a long period of inactivity... made using several bits of kit I bought through here on the marketplace, yay!

I have a Western Digital Nas (network attached storage), a MyBook Live. It is attached to my BT HomeHub and I run a proggie called SmartWare which backs up all the PC devices on the home network (3) and attached drives (1) in the background. Now that it's done all the initial backups it's just doing the delta and I don't notice it at all. This thing comes with internet access and I have a bunch of shares on there. In other words at work if I want to drop a bunch of files into my home network I get the web address and shove it in.

Online + mobile cameras + filmless digital = little reason for camera shops. What I AM surprised at is that Jessops, Jacobs etc didn't do a better job of online.

Interesting that LCE and Mr Cad, both carrying a lot of used, are still around after the big chains have passed away.

+1 on Amazon superstore, you can see it coming.

Times are a changin. Instead of a Jessops on every major high street there is now an Apple franchise. Shitty for the staff as they try hard, I think the chain itself has lost a lot of face in the serious amateur community rather than the staff.

I wonder though, I should imagine that this will hurt Canon and Nikon a lot more than Pentax. Much more stock exposure. Jessops lists Pentax on its website but I never see any stock in store.

Yes, flash varies. I know this from my stacking work in which I regularly do sequences of 500 pops. If you're operating at lower outputs (ie 1/32) the output tends to be bluer, and isn't actually at 1/32 unless you wait 10-30s after the ready light comes on. If you just go by the ready light then as many as 10% of the pops will be off compared to the others, depending on model, up to a stop. Metz 58 > Pentax 540 > Pentax 360 for consistency. For most consistemcy it helps to pop off 10 shots to 'warm' flashes up.

I'm really surprised they removed that. I use it on K-7 and K-5 all the time.
