A Hoverfly in my garden this afternoon

Once again it was a classic example of an international team who were unable to adapt their tactics to the opposition. The Dutch are superb on the break, but against a team who kept their defence sitting deep that tactic was nullified. They should have tried to suck the Russians into their own half to leave space behind. If someone plays the Russians that way they will win, 'cos the Russians need 5 chances to convert 1, and they have a poor defence which gets out of position too easily. Spain made them look poor.

We will all too soon have to stop looking at our cars as an easy and cheap leisure tool, and face up to the reality that oil is a diminishing resource with a growing global demand for it. So people who drive a certain type of vehicle "for fun" will have to accept they are going to be taxed more and more to buy their fun. Looking at peoples driving habits tells me that, at the moment, they will moan but keep on driving in exactly the same way as they have always done. My fuel bills have stayed the same as two years ago because I have thought more about they way I use my car. Moan as much as we like, but this is the reality of 21st century driving, and it will get worse. I say tax the gas guzzlers into oblivion 'cos I want to be able to afford to drive my small engined car in 10 years.
I also take the point about biodeisel (cooking fat etc). These cars should be taxed as a special case.

We already are taxed on our fuel Chris, so your point is already covered. I am sick of seeing gas guzzlers in town on the school run etc. A totally ridiculous use of the car and a waste of a rapidly diminishing resource. Never mind green issues, what about curbing the waste of fuel so there is going to be some around in later years. Tax 'em into oblivion I say. I will not be signing the petition.

An old Starblitz flash gun which I use for macro in low light, hand held and fired, using a 1 second exposure.

My stupid mistake is when shooting portrait with the built in flash to put my hand in the way when holding the camera............... and I've done it more than once!

Lovely shots, but I hope you not breaking the Official Secrets Act with such detailed shots of one of our most advanced warships.
