All I was inferring by my comment was that the lens is capable of great quality images, as shown by Hisham, so, as I thought previously, would be a good choice of Macro lenses for me to get.
Whether or not I could achieve anything as good as Hisham's images is irrelevant. I was only interested in its capability, which is obviously excellent.

Amongst the many "steam" cameras/lenses I have to get rid of,I have some quality Pentax equipment, such as:- a Pentax SMC 1:5.6/400mm lens; a Pentax SMC Reflex Zoom 1:8~12 400-600mm; a Pentax LX Waist-Level Magn-Finder FE-1; all in excellent condition. I may even sell one of my Pentax LX cameras

Do you think I would get a fair price for any of them on a "trade in" deal that some of the suppliers advertise, or do you think it would be better to advertise them on this site and / or E-bay?

I appreciate that the asking price on E-bay is not necessarily what they get, but I was wondering whether the ones I've seen are realistic, or are the sellers just pushing their luck?
I can't decide whether to put it up for Auction (perhaps with a reserve) or simply ask for a Set Price. what would you recommend?

I'm thinking of selling this rare top quality lens on e-bay in order to raise funds to cover the cost of a new "Pentax 100mm Macro WR lens", for my recently aquired Pentax K-5 camera.
I've seen 2 of these lenses for sale on E-bay recently, one for about £450 and the other £780, which is quite a difference!
Has anyone any idea of its actual value?
It comes with a case and the 6 standard filters, and is in near mint condition

I agree! I've been around photography for many years, but I found the amount of detail in the K-5 manual overwhelming!
Even simple things like the whether to set the anti-shake setting on or off is confusing! If there's such a facility available, why should you ever have it turned off? Why not just have it provided as standard?
I find it difficult to set some of the options because I'm not certain what they are are what they do!
I'm sure some enterprising expert out there could produce a "Pentax E-5 For Dummies" book. Don't forget my 10% commission!!!!

I didn't have these problems with my old Pentax LX camera!!!! LOL
