Can anyone help, i have started taking shots in both samsung raw and jpg on my GX10. When i dowload the files into picassa both file formats appear. However if i try to pull a raw file into adobe photoshop 7 only the jpgs are available. When i installed photoshop i enabled all raw formats during setup. I want to get the benefits from working from the raw files, so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Stefan, thanks for the advise, i will try the av mode next time. Its graet to get helpful advive. On the focus mode i found the fixed autofocus better than the continuesly variable focus. In terms of focus point i the centre point rather than area autofocus, do you think theese are the best combination. Essentially you are looking to capture the sawimmers head when they breethe which is every seven strokes when racing, at alternate sides,so you are essentially looking for a head to pop out of the water occasionally, to focus on and shoot.

am new to slr cameras. i took many pics of my kids swiming. Have the gx 10 with 18 to 555 and 50 to 200 kit lenses. I am not able to use the flash, the best result i got was on auto at iso 800. There is still some blur in the pictures which has been cropped, will i get any better in the cirmcomstances, ie no flash, and indoor at a swiming pool, or which mode dial settings should i try. Please look at my typical picture abiS1 in the gallery i have uploaded.

Any help is appreciated, i have found the forum very helpful so far, thanks guys.

Hi there i am a gx 10 user and i find if i download raw images using samsung bundled digimax master software the program crashes alot. Once in programes like picassa handle the same files much more quickly without crashing. Does anyone know if i can download and use the pentax camera software and will it handle the samsung DNG raw files ok.

john, thanks for the tip, i am recovering the jpeg files with artplus, i am not yet sure if the software will find the samsung raw files, however some recovery is much better than none.

thanks again

niles, ive bought the gx 10 from park cameras about three weeks ago. It is my first dslr and i am very pleased with it, but still getting to grips with the non auto use. Can anyone suggest my best route for taking blur free pictures of kids running, is it is0 800 in auto with the anti blur on? or are there other settings i should try. However back to the purchase niles, i paid £349 for the gx 10 with the 18-55 and the 50-200 stock lenses, i notice the price has gone up it may be worth a haglle there is a credit crunch on !

Welcome to the forum, msuds. I'm sure you'll be as happy with your GX10 as I am with mine. If you haven't done so already, it's worth downloading the K10D instruction manual from the Pentax site. It's much clearer and easier to navigate than the Samsung effort. The main functions are the same. You'll find it at

Have fun
