Hi there i am a gx 10 user and i find if i download raw images using samsung bundled digimax master software the program crashes alot. Once in programes like picassa handle the same files much more quickly without crashing. Does anyone know if i can download and use the pentax camera software and will it handle the samsung DNG raw files ok.

I havent tried it m8 but i would be 99% sure the software would work as the samsung GX10 and Pentax K10D are one in the same.

I'm sure it would msuds as they both shoot DNG's but never tried so not a 100%.

Also there might be a software update on the samsung site.

Good luck, as for me I use the Windows COPY and PASTE, then copy again to a DVD and then close the section of the disk and then work on in LIGHTROOM and would love to know the answer.i

Just put the SD Card in a Reader and copy to HD with Windows Explorer.
You could drag the whole folder over and then rename it to whatever the photos are about.

I'm with shim on this. Copying/moving the folder to your HD is easier with card reader than through a cable.

Once on the HD I use Elements 4 for my tweaking/ converting.

Mustn't forget the Zenits, or folders, or...

I agree it's the best way I find.

I always download raw images into picassa, its quick and easy, once in there close picassa and open your Samsung raw converter (ver 2.0 download available from Samsungs web site) click file and then select open folder D in the drop down menu and select the folder you require.

Oh and forget about the Digimax editing software, mine kept on freezing/crashing as well, so I got rid of it and bought PSP.
Cliff.

Interesting. I used it for a several months until I bought Photoshop with ACR and experienced no problems at all.

I didn't like it particularly, mind you.
