This pattern formed from the condensation on my window

Number three for me - It looks perfect re the debris, I think it adds to the image, as it subtly breaks up the mass of sand in the foreground and makes it slightly less bland.

Microsoft have a clever little tool for resizing pictures - A right click on the file in the explorer and a little 'Resize' menu comes up for you to choose the size you'd like to resize to

Just noted that you're after a slingshot 200 - The one I have is a Slingshot 100AW and is good and compact, and maybe easier to travel with if you can still fit your gear (+ future results of LBA) inside- I'm surprised by how much I can fit in it.

I think it's brilliant. It really is easy to move it from front to back, (I don't bother with the 'stability strap' thing on the side though) and I can fit a decent amount of stuff in it - DL2, 18-55, 70-300, 135/2.8, 50/1.7, flash, extension tubes and a few filters. I don't often need all of that, but it all fits in if I need it to

The only small problem to start with was getting the shoulder strap to the right length - so that the bag wasn't too low on my back, and it wasn't too high on my chest to get my camera out of it. It does work well though.

I've had a go at converting this shot of the crinan sea lock into mono - I've got somewhere, but I think it could be better - its just that I'm not really sure how to go about it - My 'levels' adjustments are a bit hit and miss.. I know there's a few B+W experts here - any ideas?

I think those shots look superb, and as has been said before, even better with a bit of cropping.

I would say, especially in the 3rd, you need to look for option in photoshop 'defringe layer'/'feather' or something to that effect. The edges of the stem look unrealistically jagged...

I have a friend who makes quite frequent trips out to Hong Kong, and I was considering asking him to buy a lens for me out there and bring it back. I don't think there would be any customs problems with bringing one lens, but does anyone know if the pentax warranty that would come with out would be valid in the UK? I'm quite keen on buying from Hong Kong (DA 16-45 for £170) but realise that things can go wrong and it would be a pain to have to send it back to Hong Kong for repair.

It certainly is. It is ok up to 220-240mm, but theres not much point in using it at 300mm - the image is soft, and the CA can be terrible.

For some more physics, I think i'm right in saying that this isn't possible. At a quantum level in the photo-electric effect -the basis of a CCD-, every conducting material has a saturation current - a point at which no matter how many photons hit the target, the photocurrent can't increase further.
