Hi Mike

I've used CollectMyParcel.com to send 5kg parcels to France and Spain. They resell DHL services; I'm not keen on DHL but I don't think they're any worse than any of the others.

Just done a quick check for you on collectmyparcel.com: £37 for 2.5kg parcel measuring 45cm x 15cm x 15cm. 2-4 day delivery and £50 insurance - extra insurance available for a price.

Hope this helps.

Martin

Thanks guys!

Pro-Am seem good but way too complicated for me now!

Will walk around in soho tomorrow and see what i can find!
The most complicated part of it is the colour profile, the rest that follows is easy:

- resize to 18 by 12 inch
- set resolution to 402 dpi
- create a folder on your pc/mac called "18 x 12"
- create a folder inside "18 x 12" called either "lustre" or "gloss" according to the type of print you want
- save your image as jpeg quality 8 in the "lustre" or "gloss" folder
- zip up the "18 x 12" folder
- send it to them

If you send me a copy of the image I can attach the Fuji colour profile for you - but only tonight, I'll not be around tomorrow or Thursday.

Hi

I'm sure Pro-Am Imaging will be able to help - if you get your file (prepped to their requirements) to them quickly. £1.25 for 12" by 18" print and Next Day Delivery before 1pm for £8.50.

Their website is here.

Info for how they need to receive files is here. You'll have to download their Fuji Colour Profile and install on your system, then use Photoshop "Convert to profile.."

As your photo is too dark and prints even darker, sounds like your monitor isn't calibrated. Or your image is tagged with a different colour profile to that used by Snappy Snaps and something got lost in translation...

Hope this helps.

Two other low budget Mac options to consider

Pixelmator
Acorn

Not sure is either will be as capable as PS Elements, Lightroom or Aperture

I've spoken to this company a couple of times, they were very helpful. Their black frames and white look good so I guess their natural wood frames will be of similar quality. Wholesale only with £150 min order is the only downside. They'll also do custom sizes I think.

Took a look at lens reviews on Pentax Forums earlier and a forum post caught my eye. So this is an unashamed copy of that post.

The title says it all really (actually the image says it all), no wonder there's a funny smell coming from Pentax marketing

looks to only do RAW DNG for 16 or 17 shots before you get the pause/shoot setting in
It would be interesting to see if RAW PEF has better or worse performance than RAW DNG.

Hi Pink

As Richard writes, the HP LP2475W is supposed to be a good monitor for the price. The Dell U2410 is also good and can be had for about the same price. Yes, Dell do have a history of using top spec IPS panels when a new model is released, gaining great reviews and then quietly replacing the panel for something cheaper during the rest of the manufacture.

Whatever screen you get, allow enough in your budget for some decent screen calibration kit - you'll need it what ever monitor you buy (unless you get a real high-end model which is supplied with calibration kit).

If your budget will stretch, consider Eizo, NEC or LaCie monitors. On principle I won't touch NEC. You will need very deep pockets. And if you have around £2k go for an HP DreamColor...

Have you taken a look at Colour Confidence website? LINK

It seems that a fast card write speed should allow faster continuous shooting. Unless the camera can't keep up with the card.
Stefan corrected my original post and I think he's right. The faster card will not allow faster continuous shooting but it will allow longer continuous shooting at the maximum rate, unless as you say, the camera can't keep up with the card.

You obviously won't be shooting video with your K200d but if you're planning to upgrade or indeed thinking of purchasing a digital camcorder then, as Stefan says, you'll need a class 6 card.
