I find that my Km under exposes, I leave a correction of +0.5 constant for the time being.

Thank you everyone for your helpful comments, it is a bit of a minefield sorting out a good bet as you can see.
After more research I am fancying a Canon MP970 all-in-one.

As I am now struggling to keep our present ancient but excellent Epson 750 printer going, I want to buy a replacement. Basically for photos but a good all-in-one machine would be fine.
