What does this mean, is the C'eed better quality than the Focus ?

I cannot read the info under the view through the viewfinder because it is too faintly lit, can this be brightened? The monitor is OK for me.

I prefer matt paper and find the Epson Matt heavyweight in 50 packs excellent and inexpensive.
