+4 on keeping it, I've never used an OM1 but they have a good reputation so stick the 50mm on the front, some film in the back, and laugh at yourself every time you take a shot and go to check the histogram (thats what I always do with my ME-F!!)

IIRC that vivitar is from the first run of "Series 1" lenses, when Series 1 meant optical quality at the expense of all else. They didn't sell very well because varifocals are harder to use than zooms but the fewer optical compromises involved is supposed to make them fantastic optically.

wheres the drewl smiley?

Where can I get a Manual for the Pentax IQZoom 160? Thanks
on account of hefty being fantastic, you have an answer this time but it's generally a good idea to start a new thread if you want to ask a question unrelated to the original topic.

welcome to the forum!

I'm actually afraid to look into the eye of the second one, lest it steals my soul!

the first one is fine, although if I'm being critical it looks like the focus might be a touch towards the camera rather than nailing the duck. Hard to tell at this size of course.

So you don't feel competent to decide when it's safe to cross the road. No smiley.
Yes but it isn't allowed by the law to go through a red stop sign, no matter if you're walking or not.
I'm sure it's the same in the UK.

However you're allowed to cross the road not over the pedestrian crossing.
as far as I know we're just about the only country where jay-walking isn't punishable, or at least if it technically is I've never heard of the rule being enforced.

you should be able to do it yourself, unless there's a deeper software problem at work. Just hit "edit" on that thar post, and remove the [img] tags which don't relate to any real image.

Then go out and take some piccys with this lens so we can see what it can do!

of course one could be incredibly naughty and suggest that, say, photos taken using an Asahiflex should not be posted on account of not being a Pentax......

I'm not even sure if we have any proud owners of Asahiflex cameras, so obviously I wouldn't dream of making such a statement.....
