Sorry for the triple post but I went on patent hunt and I might have something. link
I'm no expert but it looks very interesting, I also have no idea how new this is, maybe the current lenses with SDM works this way?
it isn't obvious to me how that is different from the way all the F series and later lenses work, but then patents are always very criptically written so no doubt there is a difference.

I once looked through the viewfinder of a Nikon D50 and had an attack of clostrophobia

If you're going to buy something, get Silkypix, no question.
To be fair, that's all very well but Silkypix is a RAW converter. Although you can make adjustments, it is not a full image editing program.
Silkypix does everything you need to do unless you are cloning things out or some other similar task.

In terms of the image quality attainable, Silkypix + GIMP beats Elements hands down.

As always the individual user pays his money and takes his choice, but my advice for whatever it's worth would always be RawTherapee + GIMP for free, Silkypix + GIMP for a little money and SilkyPix + PhotoshopCS money no object.

it's got the shutter release so it's not totally useless

RAW Therapee and UFRAW are both very powerful and free

I use RAW Therapee because it's a bit more polished and includes sharpening and suchlike. Unless there's serious photo editing to be done (like cloning something out for instance), the output from RT can be ready to print.

If you're going to buy something, get Silkypix, no question.

Inside the lid of an ASDA egg box

"contains egg"

It doesn't contain an egg, it IS an egg.

I'm sorry, but anyone who knowingly has an egg allergy and sits down to eat an egg is either too stupid to be allowed out on their own or is suicidal anyway.

Ok, that sounds good

Just bought a cheap 50mm A 2.0 from ebay. Maybe not too 'interesting' but ill take it from there
a Nifty Fifty is the best possible introduction to the delights of prime photography. Be careful though, they're adictive!!

if you want a "standard" lens for a Pentax DSLR, you can't go wrong with the Zeiss Flektogon 35mm F2.4. I picked up a Flek and a Sonnar together with an old Practica body in a bag for £20 at a local charity shop. Probably my best ever bargain!

That was my first thought.

Or he could just be waffling!
hardly a new concept though, they've been waving that model around for 4 years. I'll be disapointed (if not surprised) if that's it.

I would deffinitely confirm with the seller before purchasing, there may be multiple versions. The only thing we have to go on at the moment is the text of an advert which is displaying an incorrect photograph, I would call that an unreliable source.
