8000 clicks? it's worthless mate, I'll tell you what I'll do (and this is cutting me own throat), I'll take it to the dump for you, no charge.

can't have it all ways, if it's got to be metal to be "pro", the pro cameras have to be heavy.

There's one good feature no one seems to have noticed,

the new grip takes a Li-Ion OR 6x AAs for emergency power. You can't argue with power versatility.

We were at Haworth over the weekend and the light in the rain was fantastic for candid shots. No nasty shadows to contend with and lots of nice relections from wet surfaces. We used our K20D camera quite happily and even non-weatherproofed lenses, although we protected the lenses as best we could.

Weather sealing opens up new possibilities and any complexity will take care of itself for me. Otherwise the logic is that we'd better not use anything in case it breaks and that can't be right.
Agreed, I've taken my K10D out in the snow before now with scarcely a thought, and it has often become totally sodden with condensation during a nights astro-photography. It doesn't bat an eyelid.

my view is that only the practiced eye of a good photographer can judge just how MUCH to tweak each of the settings you mentioned. In this particular moment, how low can you put the ISO without risking shake? how shallow do you want the DOF? individual choices which must be made on a shot-by-shot basis. The camera (for now at least) can only pick settings which are generally good for portraits, it can't pick ideal ones for THIS portrait.

my wording was unintentionally ambiguous, there are no EOS fit MF lenses made by Canon, or at least only a very few very specialised ones. The point I was making is that even a die hard Canon fan who wanted to use MF lenses on a Canon body would be obliged to either use non-Canon lenses or accept an optical adaptor in order to do it.

and of course with the mirror lens having a fixed aperture the lack of communication actually makes no difference to how it works. Even if Pentax were to produce a DA mirror lens with electric contacts the only functional difference would be that it would read F8 in the viewfinder, and you wouldn't have to set the custom function to use it.

Does the flash work acceptably when mounted on the camera?

I have a Sigma 530 which initially underexposed horribly, Chris sent it back for me under warrenty and they re-calibrated it, now it works fine.

Interesting that it's different on a K20 compared to all the others, I must admit I was originally working on the assumption that they were all the same as the K10 and only bothered to look it up after you disagreed Iceblinker.
