What a great showcase for old glass! The soft tonal gradation of the Red Dahlia is fabulous.

Have you considered doing your own scanning using your DSLR. If you do a search on YouTube will find lots of useful of advice and you won't need to be reliant on third parties.

Takes up time but keeps costs down and once you have mastered your setup & technique it should be plain sailing.

Good luck.
Yes, I've had reasonable success doing this with my K50 + FA50mm Macro and an old slide/neg copier attached to the lens filter thread. Both BW and Colour negs and colour slides. For larger negatives etc. I've used a light board and the macro lens.

Here's an example from a 35mm BW neg:

I think the far fishing boat is registered LH185 or LH155. I think LH is stands for Leith, I've looked at old images of Leith and it doesn't look anything like this image.

The large vessel has ATT-S Rotterdam written on it, I haven't found anything about it.

Hi all

Going through very old family photos I came across a Glass 1/4 plate(?) negative. I took a photo of it with my K50 and converted the image to a positive. I don't recognise the harbour, does anyone here know the location.

Thanks

On my K1 I operate the 'Setting Dial' using just my thumb and it does feel quite stiff compared to the other two dials. But I think that's because I operate the other 2 dials using a thumb plus first finger. So I've just tried operating the Setting Dial using a thumb and first finger and I'd say the 'click' resistance is very similar to the other dials when operated in this manner.

Looks like a crime scene.

Yes, No.1 is very much the pick of the bunch for me.
