Quite right - for some strange reason I was prejudiced against twist locks

I bought a Red Snapper off a forum member some years ago and so I'll aim to check that.
PS: is that why this tripod is called a "Red Snapper" - i.e. because it snaps at your fingers when you open it ??

K-3 II, K-3 and a K-70 from SRS (having now relegated the K-30 /"K-50" to a backup body), & some Sigma and Pentax lenses (and a lot of old 35mm gear!)

If you are considering purchasing a tripod with leg clamps similar to those below you may well be tempted to open the clamps by hooking a thumb under the top plate and laying your fore (or index) finger along the top....If you examine the first photo it becomes obvious what can occur when the clamp snaps open.
I am not normally given to profanity, but I made an exception on this occasion. Worse still, I had forgotten that I had already done this once before to the same finger.
Seriously though, I recommend wearing a glove........Oh, and would you believe, the tripod is called a 'Red Snapper'.
