Beautiful looking landscape!

It would be very interesting to see an example image straight out of the camera with no post processing.

The quesion of critques was raised in a recent competition, this was my take on it then:

'Flan, many thanks for the competition and your critique, I get a lot from the competitions even if I don't submit an image.

I take your point on judging and commenting. I think your suggestion of a comment/critique of 1st, 2nd and 3rd has some merit and is a reasonable minimum but not too onerous.

But for myself I've found that taking the effort to comment/critique all the image does take quite an effort but is rewarding in itself. It encourages/forces me to spend some time looking at each image which helps me to decide the placings and hopefully provide a constructive analysis of each image. Though it does make my head hurt a bit!'

Yes the lighting and colours of the second are lovely.

Nos. 1 or 5 for me, my favourite is no. 5.

Fabulous result!
Funnily enough Thor's Helmet features in today's APOD image. The images shows the Seagull Nebula and Thor's Nebula, this reveals that Thor's Nebula is surrounded by the red edges of the Seagull Nebula, so the red overall background tint is in fact believable. See link below to the APOD image:

Beautiful, love Nos. 6 and 7.

Nice results, my pick would be 1, 5 & 6. Top spot No. 5!

Cheers

Doh I think I had the image reversed in the first post, so here it is again flipped.

Congratulations Dave another epic shot!

As it happens my brother's name was David to, he climbed it with a couple of mates from the Shropshire climbing club, they also did the Tasch, Dom and Lenspitze route on another day.
