Comment by mickey posted on How waterproof is a K10/20D? at 05/10/2009 - 14:20
I think it's great what Pentax has packed into such a small body.
It could be, that in Japan at least, the K-m was really targeted at Mum's and a younger crowd.
Not the same market as the K-7, who might feel at home trekking up a mountain in sometimes harsh conditions.
The K-m, and now K-x, is more your walk-around-town kind of camera; good for holidays.
Sacrificing WR seals isn't a big deal on the K-x.
Bit harsh to call it a "make or break" camera.
I think it will sell in good numbers.

I have a lot to choose from now, and I will take on board all the recommendations.

@hefty1
I'm in Tokyo now, and I sent my Uncle some pics that I had taken.
He's in England and is an avid film camera enthusiast.
He hasn't gone digital, and probaly won't...
Anyway, he expressed some interest in a couple of pics of mine and wondered if I could get a slide/negative so he develop them.
Hence my curiosity.

It might be a bit of an odd question, but is it possible to make a slide or negative from a digital pic?
Thanks in advance.

Not sure how to elaborate on that, a bit of everything.
Travel and stock photos.
Would like to get into photojournalism and macro.
Comment by mickey posted on How do you use your Pentax?! at 07/07/2009 - 18:16
A friend of mine just bought an old Monolta SRT101 and after having a go, it really got me wanting to pick up an old film camera.
I'm now on the lookout for a cheapish Pentax body.

The length probably isn't enough for wildlife and the like, but I like candids.
For range, I am using a Pentax smc FA 100-300mm f/4.7-5.8, butwith it being silver, it stands out in a busy street for candids.
Might even consider the weather sealed version.

I was outside in it for 3 hours.
I kept wiping my K10 down with a towel, but I was more concerned about my smc 100-300 not being up to it.
My friend had a new D700 and cut off a leg from some cheap waterproof trousers to cover his camera.
You can see his lens pop in to view on the right to ruin my pic...bugger.
