The list of Pentax wide angle prime lenses is available
here.

I own both the smc K 28/3.5 and smc K 35/3.5 and they are both excellent performers, even though not so fast.

Nice to know, down here in Italy it's very hard to find references to anything but nikon/canon/sony on printed media. But why did they end up recommending nikon?

I just bought the O-ME53, I do wear spectacles but I can actually see the whole frame without moving my eye around ...

I am surprised nobody mentioned the K35/3.5, or if you cant find it any of the screw mount takumar versions.

Image quality is staggering, and price is low.
I second this, however I think the (super) takumar and the K are a little different (I own both). Another option for manual focus is the K28/3.5 (and the takumar 28/3.5 as well).

That's a real pity ... By the way, it happens I own a good copy of this lens but lacking of the hood and original case (and still waiting for the tripod ring to arrive from ebay), please send me a PM with a fair offer for those accessories

Just in case you'd rather metal hoods, *bay seller heavystar has a good selection of them (with optional fitting caps) at fair prices.

and the Macro seems to be about 1:2 !?
I think it's only 1:4 on FF 24x36mm thus, due to the smaller size, on APS-C sensors it works like a 1.5:4 (circa 1:2.7)

Yes, in his range it performs like a prime, even full open. What's more it often goes for ridiculous prices.
